I live in a small one bedroom apartment with a tiny backyard. I believe in responding when creative ideas hit so yesterday I made a planter. I’d already been helped twice on this project already, once by a stranger giving away free wood and another by my dear boyfriend who helped cut some of the wood and remove nails. Today, however, I realized I needed to cut more wood but I have no saw. I asked my neighbor. It’s an important thing to build and connect in neighborhoods. People in close proximity that can help when you need it. I have a delightful neighbor with whom we let our dogs socialize daily. Her son had a saw, I brought over my wood, and together we cut it to the marked sizes. It was simple, it was kind, it was empathic, it was the Golden Rule. I am committed to returning the favor to those in my neighborhood that ask for help. I’m also very happy with the end result, a planter. 3/15/20 KINDNESS/EMPATHY/CIVILITY/RESPECT

Finding the Golden Rule in action everywhere I go! It’s like time stops and I get to watch amazing scenes play out in front of me. Scenes that embody Kindness, Empathy, Respect, and Civility. Arizona is a Golden Rule State and I’m what you might call a Golden Rule prospector. View more posts
